FUNDRAISING AT LONE OAK

Lone Oak Campsites is proud to support the many local charities by holding fundraising events throughout the year. Through events such as Wishes on Wheels, Christmas in August Gift Basket Raffle, Tie Dying activities, and more, we hope to help people in the local community.

2023 Fundraising Events

  • DUCK RACE: Purchase ducks for $3 each or a Quack Pack of 4 for $10. Only 500 ducks will be sold for this event! The race is Sunday at 2 pm in the Blackberry River, and there are 25 prizes you can win! Time is subject to change based on river conditions.

    Our Duck Race Fundraiser was a HUGE success!

    Ducks sold out in 1 hour 12 minutes, raising a grand total of $1,248. We are excited to announce that $624 will go to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for toys for kids! Thank you to our wonderful volunteers, Lorrie L., Laurie M., Melissa R., and Sheri J., who helped sell the Ducks.

  • Father's Day Weekend

    Wishes on Wheels is a 1.5 - 2 hour motorcycle run for the benefit of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The run will leave at 12 PM on Saturday. Helmets are required for all riders.

    Registration forms are available at the office.

    A Special ‘THANK YOU’ to everyone who participated, volunteered and donated at the Wishes on Wheels Motorcycle Run. It was a huge success and with everyone's help, we raised $4,220.00 to benefit Connecticut's Make-A-Wish® Foundation.

  • Farm Weekend

    Saturday morning, purchase your square from 8 am-11 am Cow Plop Bingo Begins at noon! Fundraiser for The World Food Program - Ukraine - Help feed the kids! 50%: The World Food Organization 50%: 1 Gold Prize Winner, 8 Silver Winners & 16 Bronze Winners 600 squares ONLY, don’t wait… squares will sell fast!

    Thank you to Carol L., Nicole, and Haley for running the sales of the Cow Plop Bingo. Becca brought over the cutest calf with a heart shape on her head. We raised $820 for the World Food Organization.

  • TALENT SHOW / INTERNATIONAL WEEKEND

    Everyone is welcome to dine with us! $8 per plate for pasta with meatballs, a salad with house dressing, parmesan cheese, bread, and a bottle of water.

    Thank you to the Famous A-Team, who cooked up 95 delicious pasta dinners, and everyone who attended! A total of $365 was raised for local charities, including a $60 donation!

  • CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST

    The Annual Themed Gift Item Raffle will be on Saturday afternoon, with the drawing at 5 PM. Campers and Lone Oak employees donate baskets/gift items with a theme of their choice to be raffled off with proceeds to benefit North Canaan Fire Co. You may donate Gift Items individually or gather friends and neighbors to share the cost. Please bring your donated Baskets/gifts items to the office by Friday by 6 pm.

    Tickets are available for purchase at the back of the rec hall on Saturday, 12 pm - 4:45 pm. The drawing starts at 5 pm (you do not need to be present to win)

    Congratulations to all the 68 winners! Thank you to all those who volunteered, donated, and bought raffle tickets! Thank you to Lisa, Mrs. G, Haley & Kathy L., who helped sell tickets. To the Pool and Recreation team members, Carol, Lorrie, Nicole and Jacolyn, who helped out during the event! WE RAISED $4,128.00 for N. Canaan

  • LOONEY OLYMPICS

    Come give your cart a wash on Saturday, 11 AM-1 PM! $5 per cart.

    The event was canceled due to weather, we look forward to the return of the cart wash fundraiser in 2024.

  • LABOR DAY

    The river condition was perfect. It was a great day to raise $1247 plus an additional $15 Donation. $639 was given to CCMC toys for kids. Congratulations to all 25 winners.

  • BACK TO SCHOOL WEEKEND

    Turn our campground pink for Breast Cancer awareness!

    Remember and honor all those who have fought, survived, or been taken from us!

    On Saturday, from 7:30 am-11 am, on rec field # 2, we will have a Pancake Breakfast to support Seymour Pink – A Community's Fight Against Breast Cancer. An adult meal is $8 and includes 3 pancakes and 2 sausage links. A child’s meal is $5 and includes 2 pancakes and 2 sausage links. Orange Juice, coffee, and tea will be available.

    Our fundraising activities continue throughout the day, including Raffles, Memorial Lawn Sign, and luminaries to decorate. Don’t forget to “PINK IT UP” with decorations on your golf cart during our Pink Parade.

    Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered and donated during our Breast Cancer Fundraisers including the Tutus, Pancake Breakfast, Raffles, 50/50. A total raised of $5,045 to be donated towards Seymour Pink – A Community's Fight Against Breast Cancer.

  • FALL FESTIVAL WEEKEND

    Delicious baked potatoes with all the fixings plus roasted corn! Celebrate Fall at the Fall Fun Fair and support a great cause with lunch.

    Thank you to our famous A-Team for roasting the corn, preparing and serving the potatoes. We raised $1,075 for local charities!

  • CAR SHOW & SPORTS WEEKEND

    Our 9th Annual Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show will be on Saturday. Come join the fun! Music, a 50/50 Raffle, and Trophies for the winners! Proceeds benefit North Canaan Fire Company. If you would like to show your car, please fill out the registration form and bring it to the office, or you can register on the day of the event starting at 11 am.

    A Special ‘THANK YOU’ to everyone who participated, volunteered, and donated. The 9th Annual Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show was a success! A total of 21 entries, even though we were rescheduled twice due to weather!!! Great activities from the recreation team and DJ Dr. Scrubb. The Car Show raised $1,650 to benefit North Canaan Fire Company.

  • Memorial Day

    Everyone is welcome to dine with us! $8 per plate for pasta with meatballs, a salad with house dressing, parmesan cheese, bread, and a bottle of water.

    GRAZIE! Our Italian “Thank you” to the Famous A-Team who cooked up 96 delicious pasta dinners! A total of $285 was raised for local charities.

Special thank you to Carol, Mrs. G & Kathy L., who helped sell tickets. To the Pool and recreation team members who wrote out tickets and helped out during the event! WE RAISED $2,616.00. for N. Canaan Fire Company.

  • LOONEY OLYMPICS

    Come give your cart a wash on Saturday, 11 AM-1 PM! $5 per cart.

    Golf Cart Fundraiser Raised $130 for local charities! A total of 27 volunteers washed 26 Golf Carts! We all had a great time! Thank you to Jen, Scrubby, Dottie, Lilly, Zoe, Carter, Tessa, Carmelo, AJ, Marino, Jonathan, Shane, Zoey, Amber, Meadow, Memphis, Caleb, Meaghan, Caden, Devyn, Joey, Ryan, Hadley, Jasmin, Jaxson, Joselynn, and Jackson!

    Duck Race Fundraiser: Thank you to Nicole P., Melissa R., Haley L., AJ L., Aiden P, Wheat D., and Alex B. for helping sell Ducks for this great fundraiser. We sold a total 457 ducks, $574 which was given out in 25 prizes and $574 which will be donated to CT Children Medical Center for toys. The river condition was perfect! The ducks were slowly floating down the river with many volunteers stepping into the cold water to help some stranded ducks on rocks continue their path down the river. It took a total of 25 minutes for the last duck to cross the finish line. I believe Cooper had the most fun dropping all 457 ducks out of the excavator bucket at the beginning of the race.

  • Huge thank you to the Milano and Wanat, LLC law firm in Branford, CT. has donated 4 Red Sox vs Toronto tickets on Aug 24th at 710 pm. Grandstand 31 row 1 seats 17-20 (the first row behind third base dug out!!!)

    Our Breast cancer fundraising committee at lone oak campsites has decided to do a sealed bid auction as follows:

    Please get an envelope with Red Sox bid written on the front of the envelope. On the inside, please write your name, phone number, and the dollar amount that you would like to bid on and seal the envelope.

    These envelopes need to get to the office at lone oak campsites by Sunday, Aug 21st at 2 pm. At this time, members of the committee and someone from the staff will be present to open and award the highest bidder. arrangements will be made to exchange the tickets and the cash for these tickets at that time. All proceeds will benefit Seymour pink!!!! So please be generous!!!!!!

    If you would like to make a bid but do not think you can get it to lone oak campsites in time, please reach out to me to make arrangements. We will do everything we can to make sure anyone that wants to bid gets an opportunity!!!

Gianna made a wish in 2014, which was granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Lone Oak Campsites is very excited that Gianna's wish is to camp with her family here for the entire 2014 season. Lone Oak Campsites, the staff, and all our campers have been strong supporters of the Make-A-Wish foundation since 2008 and we are happy that a Wish Kid has come to Lone Oak Campsites!

    Arrest your family, friends, and neighbors! WATCH OUT, they might arrest you too! YOU HAVE BEEN “deputized” and can begin bringing your outlaws to Face the judge. Outlaws could end up in jail or donate money to get released on good behavior. JOIN IN ON THE FUN!
